Beginning the journey back to you

learn if ketamine is appropriate for you

Dr. Drapiza will start with a full medical and mental health assessment. She will work closely with your therapist, or help you find one if needed. Integration, the processing of what comes up for you during a session, is as important as the medicine and provides the best outcome for symptom relief.

what to expect

After the assessment, if you are a candidate for treatment, you will be scheduled for an infusion. Most respond to 1-6 sessions. We will develop a plan together. Our ketamine sessions are held in a safe supportive environment. Sessions are 2 hours long and include preparation, intention, set/setting and integration.

WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT KETAMINE AND HOW IT WORKS

ketamine treatment is safe, effective, and evidence-based

Ketamine is an FDA-approved dissociative anesthetic used daily in hospitals and is on the World Health Organization (WHO) list of '“essential medicines.” Decades of research shows that given as a low dose IV infusion, ketamine is a synaptogenic for your brain, helping to create new neuronal pathways. Ketamine is believed to act as an NMDA receptor antagonist, increasing glutamate, which creates an environment where optimal neuronal pathways are formed. It rapidly increased brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), that helps brains cells regenerate and form strong connections. Chronic stress and depression can diminish neuronal connections. If you are suffering and have failed conventional treatments, ketamine may provide the breakthrough that you seek. At this time, most insurance companies do not cover ketamine infusions for the treatment of mood disorders and it is being used “off label” for this purpose.
